I love lists and the most important of those lists is the To-Do List I have for every day. Each week I decide what are the 16 (I know) things I need to do every day that week. This week it is:
Contemplative Text Reading
Check on the Fifi the Cat (Feefurz) and her needs
Eat something
Take my vitamins
Write
Read
Do a lesson on something (learn!)
Drink some tea
Read my emails
Work on Web Design
Do a chore
Work on a Spreadsheet
Look at finances
Read some more
Reply to emails
Take my vitamins
I do not necessarily do all of these things every day in the week, and this is not a simple, cross it off your list type of list. Instead I have 4 squares in my journal for each day (for ostensibly tracking 4 habits). I use the 4 corners in each square and those corners get a dot in them if I do the thing. If I do not do the thing, it stays blank. But wait! there’s more…. If you fill in all 4 dots in a square you get to color it in! That is very exciting. Sometimes I color it in if I get 3 dots (I just make a triangle) which is also pretty fulfilling. 75% fulfilling anyway. Keeping a list like this, that I update every week to reflect what is most important for me to give attention to, has been both helpful and fun. If I get off track and wonder what I should be doing right now, I glance at the list and find something to tick off. It doesn’t have to be done in order either! Just whenever something gets accomplished or heck, even attempted, put a dot!
